Obama’s Lowlights (5/10/12)

Planned Parenthood - Planned Parenthood slashed its spending on lobbying in the first quarter of 2012 by 88 percent (740 thousand dollars), disclosure records show.

Palestine - US President Barack Obama has lifted a ban on financial aid to the Palestinian Authority. Obama stated that the aid was “important to the security interests of the United States.” The US sent 192 million to Palestine.

Federal Budget – It has now been 3 years since Congress has passed a budget.

Solyndra - CBS 5 found the building locked up, with no one around. At the back, a hazardous storage area was found. There were discarded buckets half filled with liquids and barrels labeled “hazardous waste.” The building’s owner, a company called iStar, claimed in court documents, “there may be serious environmental, health and safety issues” at the premises.

Fundraisers – Obama has officially held more campaign reelection fund raisers than every other President combined since Nixon.

EPA - Sen. Jim Inhofe's (R-OK) released a video they'd unearthed of an EPA regional administrator, Al Armendariz, breaking down his "philosophy of enforcement" by telling his staff to make examples out of environmentalist foes by "crucifying" them. Armendariz resigned this past week over the comment.

Forward – “Forward” is Obama’s new campaign slogan. If what Obama has been doing is considered “forward”, I’d rather go “backwards”.

ObamaCare – In a hearing this past week in front of the Education and Workforce committee in Congress, it became apparent that HHS head, Kathleen Sebelius, took the advice of Planned Parenthood over Supreme Court precedent in making her decision about the contraception mandate in the legislation. In other news, the House Ways and Means committee released this report summary: In total, the 71 Fortune 100 companies that responded to this inquiry could save an estimated $28.6 billion in 2014 alone by eliminating health insurance coverage for their more than 5.9 million U.S. employees (impacting more than 10.2 million employees and dependents covered by those plans).

Occupy Wall Street – They’re back, but does anyone really care anymore. This bunch of free loaders has already shown their true colors as being mostly made up of lazy bums. Protests started in San Francisco by vandalizing Valencia Street. Occupy Cleveland protestors were arrested for trying to blow up a bridge. In New York Occupiers sent “white powder” in envelopes to banks (scaring employees thinking it was anthrax).

Pelosi and Waterboarding - In his new book, “Hard Measures,” Jose Rodriguez reveals that he led a CIA briefing of Pelosi, where the techniques being used in the interrogation of senior al-Qaeda facilitator Abu Zubaida were described in detail. Pelosi denies she has been briefed on waterboarding.

Politicizing Bin Laden - Ryan Zinke, a former Commander in the US Navy who spent 23 years as a SEAL and led a SEAL Team 6 assault unit, said: “The decision was a no brainer. I applaud Obama for making it but I would not overly pat myself on the back for making the right call.”

Elizabeth Warren – Warren used her supposed Native American heritage to get into Harvard Law School. Then Warren listed herself as a minority professor with the Association of American Law Schools from 1986 to 1995. It turns out Warren only has a fifth generation tie to the Cherokee Nation: Hence, Warren is 1/32 (3.1%) Cherokee! Does this really qualify Warren as a minority?

Afghanistan - While Obama was in Afghanistan he addressed the troops and made the speech about himself “You’ve got me in the house” he said. Talk about narcissism.

Nutella - The makers of the hazelnut spread Nutella were sued for misleading consumers to believe the chocolaty spread was a heath food. The suit was settled for over $3 million.
