Solar Energy - The Heritage Foundation reported the solar company Abound Solar, a taxpayer backed company Obama touted in 2010 as the energy of the future, will be laying off 70 percent of its work force.
Medicare - House Subcommittee voted to repeal IPAB. A bipartisan vote in the House of Representatives moved to repeal a controversial Medicare-cutting provision contained in Obamacare. The 17-5 vote means that the legislation will move on to the House floor and sets up a showdown with the Senate over the legislation.
Birth Control - The Senate voted 51-48 this past week to kill a controversial amendment to weaken the Obama administration’s policy requiring employers to provide birth control to their employees. “The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for the cost of contraception,” Health and Human Service head Kathleen Sebelius said with regards to the birth control mandate in ObamaCare.
Coal Power Plants - Edison International (EIX) plans to shut down at least two aging coal-fired power plants in what could be a growing wave of retirements due to new EPA regulations. If this happens, expect energy prices to continue to soar out of control.
2012 Campaign - Democrats on K Street (Lobbying businesses) are warning their corporate clients: Give to Republican challengers in the 2012 election, and you’ll regret it come tax reform time.
USDA - The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever. Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals" because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.
Chevy Volt - General Motors has temporarily suspended production of its Volt electric car, the company announced this past week. In his weekly address this past week Obama says vehicle fuel economy standards set under his administration and better cars built by a resurgent U.S. auto industry will save money at the gas pump over the long term, a counterpoint to Republican criticism of his energy policy. But when will liberals learn that forcing standards does not make cars any safer and or more practical, as the Chevy Volt has proved.
ObamaCare – Republicans are investigating why the healthcare law cost is now 111 billion dollars more expensive than when it was passed.
Cable – I got this email from my cable provider – here is the first sentence “Between 2/27 and 3/7, you may notice a very brief interruption in TV service due to Sun Outages.” – To funny – It is clear this email was not approved by the climate change fear mongering Obama administration.
Israel – Obama on Israel: "I'm Israel's greatest champion!," he said. “I have Israel’s back”. "Four years ago, I stood before you and said that, 'Israel's security is sacrosanct. It is non-negotiable.'”
Occupy Movement - Breitbart.com has received and released an exclusive tape of an Occupy Strategy Session at New York University, billed as a group talk on “The Abolition of Capitalism.” One of the headline speakers at this session was Stephen Lerner, former leader and International Board Member of the SEIU and frequent Obama White House visitor. Lerner argued in favor of people not paying their mortgages and “occupying” their homes; he spoke in favor of invading annual shareholders meetings to shut them down. But his big goal was to get workers to shut down their workplaces.
Gitmo - The very same lawyer, Tony West, who has adamantly defended GITMO detainees, has now been appointed to one of the highest positions within the Department of Justice to oversee GITMO policy.
The Senate ought be ashamed of itself. But alas, that will not happen. Like that's a shocker, eh?
ReplyDeleteYes, Mrs. AL, they should be ashamed, unfortunately most are not and are laughing all the way to the bank.
