Obama’s Lowlights (8/16/12)

Network News – A study found that 6 of 7 stories on ABC, NBC, and CBS news stations about Romney’s overseas trip were negative and focused on blunders.

Ohio – The DNC and Ohio Democratic Party are trying to change a new voting law that provides military servicemen more time to vote.

Romney Taxes - The ruthless Senate majority leader sees political gold in his attack on Romney — and he’s got the blessing from President Barack Obama’s campaign for the attack, even if he lacks evidence on Romney’s failure to pay taxes. In fact, a Reid spokesman says Barack Obama is his credible source for his attacks. To make matters worse, Reid and Pelosi both refuse to release their tax returns. I think the reason that Romney, Reid, and Pelosi do not want to release their taxes is because they are all very wealthy. This will show Reid and Pelosi are hypocrites and it would give credence to Obama’s argument that Romney is out of touch. To counter, the Romney camp should demand that Obama’s Columbia university records be unsealed and released to the public.

Hatred – Glenn Thrash, who writes for Politico, reveals that Obama has a strong “hatred” towards Romney in his book “Obama’s Last Stand.”

Campaign – Romney outraised Obama in July 101 million dollars to 75 million dollars. In other news, a recent Gallup survey of registered voters conducted July 23-29 found that 92 percent of Americans who voted for McCain in 2008 plan to vote for Romney this fall and just 5 percent have switched sides to support Obama. But among Obama's 2008 supporters, just 86 percent are planning to do so again and 9 percent are switching their support to Romney.

Gun Control – There was another massacre this past week in Wisconsin by a White Supremacist and therefore, there has been another call by liberal leaders for tighter gun control laws.

Greece – The cash strapped country is cracking down on illegal immigrants who cost the country millions in welfare expenditures each year.

Super PAC – Obama releases a Super PAC ad that says he disagrees with Super PAC ads. And here is another desperate ad by an Obama Super PAC: “When Mitt Romney and Bain closed the plant, I lost my healthcare, and my family lost their healthcare. And a short time after that my wife became ill ... And she passed away in 22 days. I do not think Mitt Romney realizes what he’s done to anyone, and furthermore I do not think Mitt Romney is concerned.” I can make the same claim that government run Medicare killed my father.

Iran - A British bank (Standard Charter) schemed with the Iranian government to launder $250 billion from 2001 to 2007, leaving the United States' financial system "vulnerable to terrorists," New York's financial regulator charged this past week.

Civility - "This is the E. coli club,” Pelosi said of the Republicans in reference to their view on women.

If/when republicans win the victory is so much more meaningful because of the bias they have to fight in the press.

    Finally – some good news.

I don’t think “civility” means what the democrats think it means.

    Thanks for the update, Patrick!!

    1. I agree, Democrats conveniently change the meaning of words to meet their standards. I think we have had this discussion many times.
